“Green Collar” support for sustainability goals

TEMA Foundation, together with Baltas Group, developed the “Green Collar” program for private sector employees. Participants in the program will internalize the sustainability philosophy and contribute to the institution’s achievement of its sustainability goals.
Private sector employees are one of the groups that have the opportunity to contribute to preventing depletion of the world with their decisions and choices. Based on this fact, TEMA Foundation developed the “Green Collar” program together with Baltas Group.
The aim of “Green Collar” is for employees to understand and internalize the sustainability philosophy and to assume a leadership role in achieving the sustainability goals of their institutions.
Speaking at the “Green Collar” program introductory meeting, TEMA Foundation Chairman Deniz Ataç said, “In the last 50 years alone, our unsustainable life choices have irreversibly destroyed two-thirds of nature. This negative situation in natural life had significant effects on socio-economic life. For this very reason, what the business world does and does not do is very important. Today’s white collar workers will be tomorrow’s managers. “We need to give some clear messages to that segment so that they can understand the situation we are in and protect the planet,” he said.
Baltas Group Co-Chairman Prof. Dr. Zuhal Baltas also said, “The increase in what we consume in nature shortens the life of the earth. This shortening has gained such momentum in the last 100 years that the necessity of finding an urgent solution to the problem has become the main problem of modern man. We need to take our world into intensive care. The important thing is who will share in this responsibility. What we need now are modern individuals with a sense of responsibility. “To gain a modern human identity is to have the awareness of making efforts to sustain life in the world,” he said.
Sustainability principles will become a habit
Institutions that offer “Green Collar” to their employees take an important step towards achieving their goals faster with employees who believe in their sustainability goals, being inspired by nature when creating business models, and working with a sense of responsibility for society and future generations.
The content developed by TEMA Foundation is presented by Baltas Group consultants. Presentations progress with interactive individual and group exercises, video screenings and conversations.
Additional outputs are also achieved, such as strengthening team ties among participants in the “Green Collar” program and subsequently increasing employee loyalty to the organization.
After the “Green Collar” program, e-mails are sent at 45-day intervals for a year to support employees in applying what they have learned in the program to their lives and turning it into a habit.
The facts of life are told
The “Green Collar” program consists of three basic parts. In these chapters, the functioning of life on earth, the relationship between humans and nature, and the concrete steps of sustainable living are explained. The first chapter, “Between Earth and Sky”, describes how nature has created itself for billions of years and how it is so strong and resilient.
In the second part, “The New Story of the Ancient Past”, the rights and wrongs made by man in his relationship with nature from the past to the present are examined. In the third section, “Building Bridges”, a road map is drawn up for people to fulfill their responsibilities towards nature in their business and private lives, and action plans that include new behaviors and attitudes are put forward.
Institutions that want to participate in the “Green Collar” program, which will fund the work of TEMA Foundation with its income, can get detailed information by visiting www.baltasgrubu.com or calling (0216) 4650440.
