Prof. Dr. The fourth part of Zuhal Baltas’s violence research, which started in 1995, has been completed.
On behalf of the Advertisers Association, Prof. Dr. The research conducted by Zuhal Baltas, based on “learning theory”, includes “Analysis of Violent Images in Main News Bulletins”. Following the observation that the research conducted in 1996, 1998 and 2005 made a great contribution to the removal of violent images from broadcasts and the formation and realization of smart signs that warn the audience about the programs, the 4th part of the research was started in 2006 and the results were announced in 2007.
In the research, which was initiated to descriptively examine the images in the main news bulletins of the four most watched channels on Turkish television in terms of quality and quantity and to take the necessary precautions against especially negative images, the main news bulletins of Show TV, ATV, Kanal D and Star TV were evaluated.
“For healthy generations to be raised and a peaceful world, respect for human beings and creating a peaceful environment should be at the top of the value system in written scenarios and information transfer,” said Zuhal Baltas, emphasizing that such research will contribute to improving sensitivity.
