Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD) held a meeting at Istanbul Sabancı Center on June 23, 2009, with Bilkent University Faculty of Business Administration Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Ümit BERKMAN and Hacettepe University Business Administration Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. The report titled “Business Ethics and Ethics Management in the World and in Turkey” prepared by Mahmut ARSLAN was introduced at a meeting open to members, relevant organizations and individuals.
The opening speech was made by Tayfun Beyazıt, TÜSİAD Board Member and Chairman of the Company Affairs Commission. In the first part of the meeting, the summary of the report was given by Prof. Dr. Presented by A. Ümit Berkman. In this section, Middle East Technical University Department of Business Administration lecturer Assoc. Dr. Sema F. Aşcıgil evaluated the report. In the question and answer part of the first part, where the participants also contributed, the areas of use of the report were discussed.
In the second part of the meeting, Prof. Dr. The Business Ethics Practices in Private Sectors session was held, chaired by Acar Baltas. In the session, Sabancı Holding Labor Relations Director Murat Güvercinci, Siemens Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Communications Director Alp Yörük and Borusan Holding Corporate Secretary Dr. Erkin Erimez shared with the participants the Ethics Management and practices in the companies they work for.
